Jordanís Ministry of Education is rolling out 11,000 PCs from Acer throughout its education system.
The Kingdom deployed approximately 40,000 machines in its schools during 2001. The purchase of the hardware is part of a coordinated drive by the Ministry of Education to establish a modern infrastructure for Jordanís schools.
"The deal represents an important expansion of the modernization program," says Krishna Murthy, general manager, Acer Middle East. "The Jordanian Ministry selected Acer technology because of its reliability and suitability for educational work. These factors are driving our development in this market across the region." Acerís local partner, CEB will provide the necessary after sales service and training.
"Our work with CEB will ensure that the schools of Jordan will be able to realise the full potential of information technology," comments Basem Ewaiwi, regional sales manager for East Mediterranean, Acer Middle East. "Acer supports the IT initiatives of the Jordanian government, which follow the directives of HM King Abdallah to make Jordan an IT leader in the region," he adds.
