EJADA Offers Programs of Assistance to int@j Members

The Information Technology Association of Jordan (int@j) in collaboration with EJADA the Euro-Jordanian Action for the Development of Enterprise held a Technical and Financial Support workshop on the 18th of March at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The event was kicked off with a welcoming note by Mr. Marwan Juma, Chairman of int@j, who informed the attendees of the value and the benefit of this presentation to the strengthening of their businesses.

This event, specifically tailored for int@j members, will help companies acknowledge the assistance programs that are available to them through EJADA.
Offering different programs and areas of support for Small-Medium sized Enterprises -SME’s, EJADA provided int@j members with the comprehensive guidelines on how to fortify their businesses and plant the seeds of growth for SME’s.

The presentation tapped into two of EJADA’s components. Mr. Mohamad El-Aydi, EJADA’s Local Senior Advisor, presented "Financial Support to SME’s." This component focused on the various areas of capital support that EJADA offers, and by addressing the particular needs of rapidly growing businesses by establishing a loan guarantee scheme -"The EJADA Loan Guarantee Scheme". Mr. El-Aydi elaborated that under this scheme, up to 70% of the lending risk of banks which lend to SME’s is covered by a special fund (€6 million) financed by EJADA. Loans between JD 28,600 (€40,000) and JD 428,570 (€612,000), for new investment in premises, machinery and equipment are eligible for the scheme, where the borrower can demonstrate a viable business plan and an ability to meet repayments.

The second component, presented by Mr. Ala’ Shaban, Advisor - EJADA, was entitled “Direct Support to SME’s”, which addressed the competitiveness of the private sector, focusing on SME businesses in the manufacturing and service sectors which have growth and export potential. Mr. Shaban stated that tailored technical assistance is provided to SME’s and business support organizations through a range of programmes, including cluster development, export promotion, sector studies and international benchmarking.
