Gal Info. Authority signs agreement with PaymentCentric for the provision of the eJaby e-bill payment in the UAE

In an unprecedented development at the Jordanian Pavilion at GITEX, the General Information Authority of UAE, a Government organization for providing Information Technology services signed an agreement today with PaymentCentric a Jordanian pioneering company in the area of electronic bill payment and presentment services, for the provision of the eJaby electronic bill payment service in the UAE.

H.E. Tariq Saeed Al-Noman, the GIA Undersecretary who signed the agreement on behalf of the GIA said “ According to the directives of H.E. Minister of Planning the chairman of the board directors of GIA, we are pleased to sign this agreement today with PaymentCentric which will enable us to provide the citizens and expatriates in the UAE with an online service named eJaby that will allow them to enquire about and pay any of their bills electronically in one convenient location securely and in real-time” Such locations, or payment depots, will be conveniently located and spread throughout the UAE.

The GIA main objective is to offer all information technology consultancy and training for the UAE ministries and government bodies.

Services such as the eJaby electronic bill payment service are part of the GIA’s vision of partnering with leading companies such as PaymentCentric for the creation and development of unique e-services provided to the public by the various governmental bill-issuing entities in the UAE.

The eJaby service, which has already been introduced through different channels in Amman, Jordan, was created by PaymentCentric a leading and pioneering private Automated Transaction Clearing & Processing House based in Amman, Jordan.

PaymentCentric has emerged as both a pioneer and a leader within the growing ICT sector in the MENA region and e-merging countries by offering several B2B e-payment services which are in-line with the rapid global changes in eCommerce.

PaymentCentric was created by the joint efforts of; RS2 Software Group, a German global provider of transaction processing and card management systems, Telaterra Software a Jordanian Systems Integrator, The Jordan National Bank, and The Nuqul Group, a leading private industrial and trading group in the Middle East in addition to several renowned regional financial institutions, and local investors.

Mr. Sameer Mubarak, CEO of PaymentCentric, said upon signing the agreement “Today’s signing is not only a significant milestone for PaymentCentric but also for the Jordanian ICT sector as a whole. This agreement shows that the coordination and collaboration between the public and the private sector is not only possible within a given country but across the region as whole”. He went on to add “We would like to thank H.E. Sheikh Fahim Sultan Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy and Commerce, Minster of Planning and Chairman of the GIA on behalf, as well as H.E. Tareq Al Noman the GIA undersecretary who we have had the pleasure of signing the agreement with today, and of course we would like to thank the entire GIA Board of Directors for their efforts” He added “we would also like to thank H.E Dr. Fawaz Al Zu’bi Minister of Information & Communication Technology for witnessing the signing of the agreement today and for his continued and unrelenting support of the ICT sector in Jordan

Mr. Nizar Zahran, Business Development Manager at PaymentCentric added that “today’s signing is a big step towards achieving our goal of making the eJaby service a truly regional service with it’s benefits being felt by the bill paying public across the MENA region” He added that ‘We are working very hard to achieve His Majesty King Abdullah’s vision of developing Jordan into a regional I.T. hub from which e-services can be launched and deployed in the region for the improvement of the day-to-day lives of its residents”
