KAUH Clinicians Turned to the Latest Information Technology to Supplement their Medical Skills

King Abdullah University Hospital, Irbid, Jordan is highly attuned to the needs of patients. As a staff dedicated to providing the highest standard of care, KAUH clinicians turned to the latest information technology to supplement their medical skills. From easy-to-update care sets to the longitudinal patient record, state-of-the-art Hospital Information systems are giving the clinicians the tools they depend on to treat their patients.

The organization wanted to have a system that was more efficient and, at a minimum, full functionality of the Hospital process.

According to Dr. Abdullah Bataineh, Project Director Information Systems at KAUH, they were also interested in gaining the advantages of a longitudinal medical record that could give clinicians instant access to patient information from multiple encounter, both inpatient and outpatient.

INTRACOMís General Manager, Mr. Tareq Abu Sharar, Commented: "MEDICOM software today is up and running and in use at KAUH. KAUH officials noted that they have already benefited from the systemís ease of use and anticipated care team efficiency improvements, with early results showing a dramatic reduction patient waiting.Ē

MEDICOMís order management, Laboratory, Radiology, Operation Theater and Clinician Access (CA) and others modules are up and running at KAUH, enabling physicians and nurses to enter orders, retrieve results with just a click of a mouse. Immediate access to previous laboratory and radiology history and orders of patient has improved patient care and streamlined paperwork.

Mr. Sakher Khreisha, Project Director, INTRACOM, commented ď We are excited to have these modules live and to see the users using them efficiently and smoothly from day one. We, at INTRACOM, are looking to implement the rest of the modules in the same manner as planned and scheduled.

This advanced system is proof of MEDICOM ongoing commitment to provide technology solutions that truly improve the day-to-day work environment for hospital staff and other caregivers.

The MEDICOM HIS future implementation at KAUH involves interface to Industry Standard 3rd party applications and products like ORACLE Financials Suite that is being also implemented by INTRACOM, PACS systems and a wide range of laboratory Analyzers.
