Arab tourism, great expectations.

The part of tourism in the world's economy is in constant and substantial increase since the last decades, and w know for sure that the tendancy will be confirmed in the coming ones.

This explains the initiatives aiming at attracting part of the world tourism and at sharing the experiences of the arab countries regarding this issue.
The Arab countries have many things to put in common as vast disparities remain between these countries. Most of them have a rich archaeological, historic, cultural and religious patrimony, or suffer from a similar politic or regional instability.

This the goal pursued by the Arab Tourism Forum that will take place in the Phoenicia hotel of Beirut the 10 and 11th of April.
Specialists are expecting the tourist investments to reach 10 billion dollars in the coming years, this will result in increasing the hosting capacities, the quality of service and the training.

The touristically most advanced countries are not the most visited ones. This can be explain by the regional tensions, and Egypt or Jordan with very rich patrimonies have faced a deep tourist recession since the september 11 attacks.
On the other hand, the occupancy rates in countries with a stable situation are close to 100 %.
Thinking about the political aspects of tourism, and about the programmes to be implemented, will allow the rab world to take its place on the international tourist scene.
Two figures, 20 million tourists visited the Arab countries in 2000, and in 2010 Morocco aims at attracting 10 millions of them.
