Jordan has an effective health system that supports
the well-being of its community all around the Kingdom. There are 86 hospitals
in Jordan today, and the main health indicators are improving year after year.
This is the result of a sustained policy implemented by the government and the
Ministry Of Health to give access to medical care to all the population. It has
been carried out successfully.
Care quality considerably improved over the past decades, and are now reaching
a level comparable to the highest standards of the region. An indicator is the
fact that Jordanians hospitals are welcoming patients from Arab countries who
can afford an hospitalisation in a foreign country to get better cares that they
could have in their origin country.
Health awareness is the starting point of any
health policy and many education campaigns are implemented all along the year
to achieve it, ranging from tobacco control to psychological health. First of
all Health is a right, and in this regard it can not be seen as an ordinary commercial
activity.
