Jordan is a fast growing country with GDP rates
superior to 3% over the past decade. This resulted in a fast but controlled structural
development. Amman is a capital in continuous change and the non resident will
be surprised of the city expansion within few months.
Infrastructure development has been well organised and planned and the city doesn't
face traffic-jam although the number of cars is in constant increase.
The same applies to housing development. As a financial and economic centre for
the country, Amman draws more and more inhabitants each year and their accommodation
is a social stake of importance, several consequent immigrations resulting from
the political activities in the area increased the phenomenon.
Relevant policies have been carried out successfully to achieve these goals. Harmony
characterises housing development and is completed with the constantly increasing
care Jordanian are attaching to the interior of their houses. Furniture production
and importation companies are expanding along with interior designers that are
solicited to enhance the quality of living.
Creativity in architecture, respect for tradition, dedication to quality are the
master words of today's craft production in Jordan. Inherited from civilisations
that contributed to the development of the world as we know it today, craft finds
its roots in the diversity of Jordanian culture.
