6th Day
Stay in Aqaba to enjoy the sea.
Aqaba, Jordan's port and
coastal resort, is on the mouth of the Red Sea surrounded by picturesque mountains.
Enjoy the soft white sand and the water, so clear that you can see to up to 50
meters! A mask and a snorkel is all you need to explore the rich marine life -
hundreds of types of colourful fish and coral reef are all within easy reach of
the amateur.
Soak up in the sun in one of the beach front cafes and try out the excellent sea-food.
Or, if you're feeling advanturous, take a trip to the old Crusader castle, now
a museum, or have a look at the port, one of the fastest growing in the world.
Waterskiing, sailing, rowing, wind surfing and diving are all available at the
two local water sports centres. Or you can hire a boat with a glass bottom and
go looking for shipwrecks - Aqaba has been on trading routes since the beginning
of history, and many ships lie scattered on the bottom. The possibilities are
endless.

The weather in Aqaba is always
pleasant. In summer, temperatures can reach 37°C (100°F), but cool breezes
soften the heat. Even in winter, they reach the mid (70°F) and there is on
average six hours of sunlight a day.
